The Gallery provides a selective program of high quality exhibitions of Australian and international art and supports the arts in the Canberra region by presenting exhibitions developed in conjunction with the University's wide-ranging academic interests.

As Curator, Exhibitions you will be responsible for the organisation, implementation, and curatorial input for Drill Hall Gallery exhibitions. You will liaise with key stakeholders, curators, artists, art institutions, critics, transport and insurance agents to ensure that these exhibitions run to set deadlines while maintaining the highest museum standards.

This role involves managing and coordinating the exhibition program and its associated publishing, outreach, and promotional activities, overseeing the installation and de-installation of exhibitions within tight deadlines, and participating in the review and development of policies.

To succeed in this role you will need excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a small team. You will have demonstrated high level experience in research and presentation of art works for display and their maintenance, as well as a working knowledge of contemporary Australian art, cataloguing and art handling procedures to museum standards.

Additionally, strong administration skills and the proven ability to work independently are important requirements of the position.
