Our Canberra team is currently seeking a Principal or Senior Ecologist, with flexibility for remote work or relocation assistance.
Role Overview
As a key member of our ecological team, you will lead and manage ecological initiatives, providing both strategic direction and technical expertise. Your leadership will be instrumental in guiding projects from their initial stages through to successful completion. You will also be responsible for mentoring junior staff and fostering a culture of professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead ecological surveys and impact assessments, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Identify new business opportunities and contribute to the strategic growth of the ecology workstream.
- Oversee the preparation and delivery of high-quality reports and assessments.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop sustainable solutions.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a Principal Ecologist role and at least 5 years as a Senior Ecologist.
- Degree in ecology, environmental science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale ecological projects.
- Strong understanding of environmental legislation and policies.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
