Community Engagement Coordinator Role

The successful applicant will oversee the active engagement of the wider community in the campus through the use of sporting facilities and sport services.

This role involves implementing key community participation programs, identifying and acting on participation targets and growth outcomes of various programs, and working closely with internal and external departments to drive visibility and increase demand for active recreation community programs.

Main duties include:

  • Implementing the delivery of key community participation programs under broad supervision.
  • Identifying and acting on participation targets and growth outcomes of School Holiday Programs, Children's Birthday Parties, Active Recreation School & Community programs, including Diversity and Inclusion Programs.
  • Collaborating with the Regional Sports Coordinator to activate regional action plans for community engagement programs.
  • Liaising with internal and external departments to build effective professional relationships and drive visibility and increase demand for active recreation community programs.
  • Facilitating end-to-end bookings and program administration for dry program enquiries, including responding to queries, providing quotes, confirming bookings, creating access schedules, and ensuring facilities are prepared and programs are appropriately staffed.
  • Supervising front-line dry-programs team to ensure safe and engaging active recreation programs.
Essential Criteria
  • A relevant undergraduate qualification in a field such as sport management or education.
  • Relevant knowledge and experience in delivering active recreation programs in community participation and education sectors.
  • The ability to assess community and stakeholder needs and implement new initiatives and programs.
  • Proven ability to lead, support, and engage a team of front-line staff and deliver excellent customer service.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in ensuring compliance and managing risk specific to the delivery of safe and engaging active recreation programs.
  • A positive and proactive approach to work, with a willingness to get hands-on and upskill as required.
