The Royal Flying Doctor Service is seeking a skilled Non-Emergency Patient Transporter to join their team. As a Non-Emergency Patient Transporter, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and transport services across Victoria and New South Wales.
About the RoleYou will be responsible for delivering dignified and patient-focused care, ensuring the efficient and effective transport of non-emergency pre- and post-hospital patients. Your role will involve performing patient assessments, providing high-quality patient care and treatment during on-road transport, and developing positive working relationships with patients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Perform patient assessment and intervention on-road
- Provide high quality patient care and treatment during on-road transport
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with patients and stakeholders
- Perform independently and problem solve within established policies and procedures
- Work collaboratively with other team members
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Diploma of Paramedical Science (Ambulance), or Bachelor of Health Science (Paramedic), or Bachelor of Nursing (with AHPRA registered nurse registration), or other equivalent qualification for Ambulance Officers recognized by RFDS or DHHS
- Evidence of successful completion of required clinical placements and a Clinical Skills Assessment, completion of a minimum of 400 hours operational experience under the direct supervision of a clinical instructor, successful completion of clinical skills assessment
- The availability to work 10 and 12-hour shifts across 7 days
- The ability to drive in both city and country traffic conditions
- Compassion, professionalism, and dedication to providing excellent service
- Experience working in the NEPT sector in an equal role desirable but not essential
- Satisfactory completion of safety screening including a current Full Drivers Licence, State driver history reports, Working with Children's Check, National Police Check, and the right to work in Australia
