**Job Description**

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Science and Technology Advisor to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing science and technology support to Special Operations Command (SOCOMD) through the exploration of new concepts and technologies, enhancing special operations capabilities across multiple domains.

This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the SO community, coordinating and leading S&T support activities from concept to capability.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Primary point of contact for ideation, coordination, and conduct of S&T support to SOCOMD Special Projects.
  • Build lasting relationships with SO HQ personnel to identify and evaluate opportunities, and prioritise S&T support requirements.
  • Develop task plans working with SO HQ and/or DSTG to secure necessary resources to achieve required outcomes.
  • Enhance S&T reach through regular engagement and exploitation of national and international S&T communities on SO-relevant technologies.
  • Undertake routine engagement and reporting as part of the SOSTA network.
  • Work with SSASO to capture and incorporate SO SP S&T requirements and priorities into the wider SOCOMD S&T Program Plan.

Our team delivers innovation, science, and technology programs in support of the Land and Joint domains.

We are responsible for delivering S&T Programs including Enabled Soldier, Joint Fires, Networks, Protected Manoeuvre, Special Operations, Joint Operations, Joint EMS, Force Integration, Force Design, Joint Health, Joint Logistics, Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance, Asymmetric Effects.

This position sits within a small team of program-focused staff that coordinate the work of a much larger group of scientists, technologists, and engineers.
