Job Purpose

This position is a unique opportunity to lead the development and implementation of an early childhood education program in Glace Bay. The successful candidate will be responsible for informing the design and construction phases of the new childcare centre, ensuring that it meets the needs of the community.

You will work closely with stakeholders to create enriching programming for children aged 0-5, and develop a comprehensive plan for the centre's operation. Your passion for early childhood education and commitment to making a positive impact on your community are essential qualities for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the early childhood education program in accordance with provincial standards and regulations.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure that the program meets the needs of the community.
  • Manage the project timeline and budget, ensuring that the project is completed on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with staff and partners to develop a comprehensive plan for the centre's operation.
  • Represent the organization at meetings and events, promoting the centre and its programs.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Early Childhood Educator designation (diploma or degree) with working experience.
  • Well-versed in the provincial standards for early childcare in Nova Scotia.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
Benefits:
