Job Title: Director of Rooms

Job Summary:

The Director of Rooms is responsible for overseeing and directing all aspects of departmental operations, making business decisions for the department, and ensuring the quality and standards of the hotel and guest expectations are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the execution of all operations in the rooms division, including front office, housekeeping, and reservations
  • Monitor performance against budget and make adjustments as needed
  • Provide motivation and support to the team, ensuring they are empowered to deliver exceptional guest experiences
  • Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring the hotel meets its financial goals and objectives
  • Review reports and financial statements to determine Rooms operations performance against budget
  • Handle complaints, settle disputes, and resolve grievances and conflicts by negotiating with relevant parties
  • Manage staffing levels to ensure guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives are met
  • Be an expert on the hotel and the surrounding area, reinforcing our commitment to wellness inside our walls and beyond
  • Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new guests, creating intimate and distinctive experiences to enable future bookings
  • Understand and manage the impact of the department's operations on the overall property financial goals and objectives to achieve or exceed goals
  • Develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external

Requirements:

  • Experience with OPERA property management system or similar is essential
  • A minimum of three years' experience in a similar managerial role
  • Self-motivated, driven, and energized in a fast-paced environment
  • Armed with smart solutions and a can-do attitude
