About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced professional to join our Tasmanian Data Linkage Unit (TDLU) as a Data Linkage Analyst at the Menzies Institute for Medical Research (Menzies).
Menzies is one of Australia's leading health and medical research institutes, committed to improving human health and wellbeing through excellent research. Our researchers take a disease prevention approach, aiming to improve patient care and clinical outcomes for the community by translating knowledge and clinical actions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake operational and project linkages to a high standard, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain databases to facilitate the linkage of confidential data, adhering to strict security protocols.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including system designs, test plans, and training manuals.
- Provide database support to colleagues, assisting in data extraction and processing.
- Offer expert advice on study design, data linkage, and geocoding of data to client services staff and researchers.
Requirements
- A degree-level qualification in a relevant field, such as IT, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or Statistics, with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Well-developed skills in database design and modelling, SQL query-writing, and database administration/management, preferably in SQL Server and Microsoft Access.
- Demonstrated experience in application development, preferably in Visual Basic but not essential.
- Understanding of data linkage processes and techniques, with the ability to grasp TDLU's complex Data Processing System and associated software.
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating or managing complex, data-based projects, including data security, management, quality assurance, and data confidentiality.
What We Offer
This role offers a competitive remuneration package, including a base salary within the range of $92,120 to $99,891, plus 17% superannuation.
