Clinical Coder Position

Our organization seeks an exceptional Clinical Coder to deliver high-quality coding services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in health information management and excellent communication skills.

  • Assign accurate and efficient ICD-10-AM codes for patient discharges, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Provide outstanding customer service by assisting with medical record management activities and supporting the team in achieving departmental goals.
  • Ensure adherence to National Safety & Quality Healthcare Standards, contributing to a culture of excellence and patient safety.
  • Participate in case mix analysis, education, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance overall performance and drive business outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the clinical documentation improvement team to ensure accuracy and efficiency in coding practices.
  • Support the timely extraction and submission of mandatory data reports, maintaining compliance and precision in our reporting.
  • Deliver timely and accurate clinical coding, upholding the highest standards of data integrity.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Health Information Management (or equivalent qualification).
  • Eligibility for membership with the Health Information Management Association of Australia.
  • Effective communication skills, including interaction with patients and healthcare staff.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and other software applications.
  • Understanding and adherence to privacy regulations, protecting sensitive patient information.
  • Knowledge of private sector funding models in Australia and WebPAS patient information systems.
