We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Engineer to lead our Core Infrastructure team.

Job Overview

Main Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership: Define and own technical roadmaps for large cross-cutting efforts with Stripe-wide impact.
  • Cross-Functional Partnerships: Drive partnerships with various teams within Stripe, including Infrastructure, Service Platform, Developer Experience, Data Platform, Product Engineering, Finance, Risk, Operations, and GTM teams.
  • Project Ownership: Establish project ownership and contribute to prioritization and execution with urgency.
  • Presentation Skills: Present clear analysis to senior leaders to enable informed decision-making.
  • Operational Excellence: Operate with minimal oversight and make impactful contributions throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 15 years of engineering experience or equivalent combined work experience reflecting domain expertise.
  • Demonstrated experience leading company-wide initiatives spanning hundreds of engineers across multiple teams and organizations.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate across multiple teams and stakeholders to drive business outcomes.
  • Ability to balance execution and velocity with security, reliability, and efficiency.
