About the Opportunity

We are seeking an exceptional Educational Leader to join our Early Learning Centre at John Paul College. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a beautiful campus environment, located just 20 minutes from Brisbane CBD.

The successful candidate will be responsible for inspiring and motivating educators in the Early Learning Centre environment, promoting a culture of excellence and innovation. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and delivering an academic learning program that aligns with the needs of successful learners
  • Creating a coherent and innovative approach to pedagogical knowledge and expertise, improving learning and achievement
  • Developing a clear focus on learner needs, integral to their achievement, innovation, and global competence
  • Coaching, leading, supporting, and mentoring Lead Educators and Educators in leading quality practice
  • Undertaking research and professional development to stay informed about emerging programs, patterns, and frameworks of early childhood education
  • Utilizing specialist knowledge to develop and support early childhood programs
  • Leading the development of the curriculum and establishing clear goals and expectations for teaching and learning
  • Developing and maintaining links to the community, working with other community services and groups
  • Establishing systems for continuity of learning when children change rooms or attend other services
  • Collaborating effectively with Educational Leaders and Administration Staff

About You

The ideal candidate will be able to model excellent leadership, build the capacity of educators, and support team members to provide a safe and engaging place for children, families, and the team. Key requirements include:

  • Demonstrating an understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) through implemented programs
  • Currently holding an Early Childhood degree-level qualification
  • Effective communication through face-to-face interactions with Lead Educators, Educators, families, and children
  • High standard of written communication
  • Demonstrating an understanding of the John Paul College Strategic Vision by implementing early learning programs
  • Hold First Aid, CPR, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis certificates

This role will work from 7:30am to 3:45pm, Monday to Friday, requiring a self-motivated, agile, and versatile individual with exceptional communication and organisational skills. The position includes two days of non-contact/research time and three days of programming and mentoring relief. If you have in-depth knowledge of emerging issues and trends in Early Childhood Education, a strong professional development focus, and a passion for leading and mentoring educators, this is the role for you.
