Nursing Service Director Paediatric Palliative Care

This role offers a unique opportunity to provide strategic and operational leadership, clinical governance, HR/administrative management, and implementation of strategic development within the Paediatric Palliative Care Service team.

As Nursing Service Director (RN 5.1), you will be responsible for providing professional and operational nursing advice and leadership to the Paediatric Palliative Care Nursing Service and across the health network, community nursing services, and interdisciplinary teams.

The service is a multidisciplinary team of healthcare specialists including doctors, nurses, grief and loss coordinators, social workers, and art therapists.

You will oversee the nursing staff, coordinate patient care, and ensure the delivery of specialized holistic individualized care for children living with life-limiting conditions across the state of South Australia and the Northern Territory.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to use their clinical knowledge and expertise to make a difference in the lives of South Australia's most vulnerable women, babies, children, and young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use your clinical knowledge and expertise to provide strategic and operational leadership, clinical governance, HR/administrative management, and implementation of strategic development.
  • Coordinate and support innovation in care, research, and safety and quality improvement within the service, WCHN, and at state and national level.
  • Provide professional and operational nursing advice and leadership to the Paediatric Palliative Care Nursing Service and across the health network, community nursing services, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Oversee the nursing staff, coordinate patient care, and ensure the delivery of specialized holistic individualized care for children living with life-limiting conditions.
