2D Visual Effects Specialist

We are seeking an accomplished 2D visual effects specialist to join our team in Sydney.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Design and create engaging scene-specific and reusable frame-by-frame effects animation that aligns with the creative vision of each project.
  • Maintain a consistent stylistic drawing style briefed by the VFX supervisor, client, and lead artist.
  • Collaborate closely with the animation team and compositor to ensure seamless integration of effects.
  • Re-use previously created and approved effects, adapting animation to new shots as needed.
  • Foster effective communication with the team to address any issues impacting timely delivery.
Key Performance Indicators:
  • Deliver high-quality dynamic 2D visual effects that meet style and quality expectations.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with animation teams, background artists, and compositors for optimal results.
  • Demonstrate a good sense of effects animation timing.
  • Stay up-to-date with current 2D effects animation techniques.
Required Skills:
  • Experience with effects animation and proficiency in Toon Boom Harmony, After Effects, and other relevant software.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to share knowledge within a team environment.
  • A passion for animation.
