Job Overview

At DNEG, we are seeking a skilled Visual Effects Compositor to join our team. This role involves collaborating with VFX Supervisors and 2D Supervisors to create visually stunning shots by combining live-action and computer graphic elements.

The compositor will work on varying tasks from blue/green screen extractions to complex CG integration. They will participate in client reviews and daily sessions to ensure the project meets production standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with VFX Supervisors and 2D Supervisors to composite elements for a visual effect shot.
  • Participate in client reviews and daily sessions to ensure the project meets production standards.
  • Develop creative approaches to problem-solving using various techniques and tools.
  • Perform all aspects of composite FX design.
Requirements:

Junior Compositor: We require a minimum of 1-year VFX industry experience as a compositor on live action feature films or TV series.

  • Experience as a Roto and Prep Artist.
  • Experience using Nuke.
  • A knowledge and interest in photography and practical lighting.
  • A showreel demonstrating a range of work including plate-based compositing, set extensions, FX, and CG integration.

Mid Compositor: We seek candidates with a minimum of 2 years VFX industry experience as a compositor on high-end live-action feature films.

  • Experience using Nuke.
  • A knowledge and interest in photography and practical lighting.
  • A showreel demonstrating a wide range of high-end work including plate-based compositing, set extensions, FX, and CG integration all finished to a high standard.
  • Demonstrate a good eye for colour, composition, and technical shot finishing and a proven ability to manage complexity across multiple mid-level shots.

Senior Compositor: We need experienced professionals with a minimum of 6 years VFX industry experience as a compositor on high-end live-action feature films.

  • Experience using Nuke.
  • A knowledge and interest in photography and practical lighting.
  • A showreel demonstrating a wide range of high-end work including plate-based compositing, set extensions, full CG shots, and FX, and CG integration all finished to a high standard.
  • Demonstrate a good eye for colour, composition, and technical shot finishing and a proven ability to manage complexity across multiple Senior level shots.
