Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Horticultural Specialist to contribute to the maintenance and improvement of our parks, gardens, and landscaped areas.

This is a permanent full-time opportunity for a Horticultural Specialist to work with us in achieving our goals and objectives. The successful candidate will be part of a team that focuses on the maintenance and improvement of our parks, gardens, and landscaped areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain gardens including annuals, native & non-native plants, high-profile areas, traffic facilities and other landscaped areas.
  • Provide recommendations for mulching, watering, maintenance, embellishment and improvement; implement as required.
  • Develop skills and knowledge of staff.
  • Assess and mitigate risks and hazards in areas under control.
  • Identify and rectify landscape deficiencies, especially in gardens and landscape maintenance.
  • Provide assistance and advice to management, staff, customers and the community when necessary.
  • Ensure all works are completed within timeframes.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Horticulture or a similar field.
  • A current Class C Drivers Licence.
  • Chemical Users Accreditation Certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience in garden maintenance.
  • Skills and experience necessary to fulfil the role and responsibilities.
