Job Title: Disability Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Disability Support Specialist to join our team of dedicated professionals.

As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities by providing personalized support and promoting independence through engaging activities and in-home assistance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing daily living and medical support as needed
  • Encouraging independence and skill-building through activities such as cooking, crafts, music, sports, and reading
  • Delivering in-home and community-based support tailored to individual goals and needs
  • BUILDING POSITIVE, RESPECTFUL RELATIONSHIPS WITH CLIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES
  • Handling challenges with empathy, patience, and problem-solving skills

To be successful in this role, you will need strong communication and relationship-building skills, be resilient, adaptable, and confident supporting people from diverse backgrounds, be able to prioritize and problem-solve under pressure, and have flexible availability (shift work, weekends, public holidays, sleepovers).

The ideal candidate will possess a Certificate III or IV in Disability Support (or equivalent) and have a solid understanding of NDIA processes. Handy craft skills such as sewing, knitting, or crocheting are also desirable.
