About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lifestyle and Volunteer Programs Manager to join our team at Southern Cross Care Queensland. As a key member of our residential aged care team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing high-quality lifestyle and volunteer programs that enhance the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire Lifestyle function, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and resident needs
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of Lifestyle staff, providing constructive feedback and support for professional growth
  • Manage volunteer recruitment, training, and support, ensuring effective integration into lifestyle programs and maintaining key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Foster a positive environment for volunteers, recognising their contributions and encouraging retention
  • Ensure compliance with organisational standards and completion of mandatory training for volunteers
  • Manage the volunteer program budget, ensuring appropriate allocation of resources to support volunteer activities
  • Ensure the volunteer program complies with aged care and organisational standards, including required training and certifications
  • Produce, in consultation with the resident/representative, a Lifestyle Assessment and Care Plan that reflects the resident's interests and abilities
  • Develop, implement and evaluate individual lifestyle assessments and care plans every six months or sooner if required
  • Develop an innovative Lifestyle program that provides participants with meaningful experiences that improve their spiritual and emotional well-being
  • Organise community connections and intergenerational programs, e.g., schools, childcare, and local clubs
  • Assist in publishing a monthly volunteer newsletter and facilitate communication forum
  • Ensure the effective usage of resources to enable the delivery of a variety of programs aimed at providing choice, spiritual, and emotional well-being to residents
  • Develop an orientation program for new residents
