About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our Water Utilities team in Sydney. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in enhancing our capabilities and reputation in the water industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive the technical quality of water and wastewater infrastructure design projects.
  • Develop and deliver structural design from concept to detailed design, ensuring high technical standards.
  • Produce and review concise, high-quality technical documentation.
  • Contribute to the design team by assisting colleagues in achieving improved client feedback results and exceeding client expectations.
  • Assist in preparing and coordinating high-quality proposals and pursuits.
  • Support project management and design management in various projects.
  • Develop and mentor younger engineers.
  • Collaborate with a team on large-scale, multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects and programs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in civil/structural engineering or equivalent.
  • Proven local design experience, ideally in a consultancy environment.
  • Chartered Engineer or actively working towards chartered status.
  • Experience in detailed design of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including pipeline, pump station design, and treatment plants.
  • Preference for water retaining structures experience.
  • Good knowledge of relevant industry-related Australian Standards and WSAA codes.
  • Understanding of related safety in design practices and processes.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively.
  • The ability to prepare successful proposals with the correct scope and budget.
  • Experience in Design and Construction projects would be advantageous.
