Community Support Worker Job Description

The Community Services Support Worker is a vital role in delivering community services by providing personal, physical and emotional support to individuals.

  • This position involves working closely with participants and consumers to meet their needs, including daily living tasks, safety procedures and maintaining a safe working environment.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication skills, a caring attitude towards others and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Key responsibilities:
    • Provide individualized support to participants and consumers.
    • Maintain accurate records of interactions and service delivery.
    • Collaborate with other professionals to ensure holistic support for individuals.

Requirements:

  • A current First Aid certificate (essential)
  • Demonstrated caring and supportive attitude towards participants and consumers.
  • Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment and respect the values, customs, beliefs of participants and their families.
  • Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality.
  • Sound knowledge of Work Health and Safety principles.
  • Criminal History Check (issued within the last 3 months)
  • Current Working with Children's Clearance (Ochre Card)
  • A valid driver's licence
  • NDIS Workers Clearance
