Job Opportunity:

We are seeking ambitious early- to mid-career researchers with innovative policy-focused research agendas and who are committed to high-quality teaching.

The Department of Policy and Governance is looking for two fixed-term appointments at the Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level. Level of appointment will be based on the attributes and experience of the successful applicants.

  • Teach within our Master of Public Policy and Master of Public Administration programs
  • Contribute to other educational activities, including executive education
  • Play an important part in the life of the organization through research supervision, administrative duties, and participating in public and policy engagement activities

The successful applicants will complement and extend existing strengths within the Department.

They will demonstrate an emerging or established research track record with a commitment to research excellence in policy and governance.

The position is located in Canberra.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • A PhD in public policy or cognate discipline in the social sciences, such as political science, economics or sociology
  • Familiarity with policy issues in the Asia-Pacific and/or Australia
  • An emerging or established research agenda or policy engagement in the region
  • Ability to teach postgraduate coursework in research design, statistical analysis and related methodological areas
