Job Overview

This Energy leadership position is a newly created opportunity within the sector, based in Brisbane. The role will involve coordinating activities and leading a team to deliver results at the local office level, providing input into design, review, and delivery of Energy Market and State Business plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing effective planning and management strategies for the local team to meet the Energy Market Sector and State plans;
  • Undertaking client relationship management and business development activities aligned with the Energy Market Sector and State plans;
  • Providing project governance and project management in the local office to achieve reliable project performance in terms of sophistication, timeliness, and quality;
  • Leading and developing employees located in the local office to ensure cohesion, optimal performance, resourcing, retention, and professional development;
  • Managing activity to transition regional-based business model to a national service model;
  • Effectively managing and leading a team of nominated direct reports to ensure optimal performance, resourcing, retention, and professional development.

About You

Suitable applicants will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate discipline;
  • Post-graduate qualifications in an appropriate discipline (highly regarded);
  • Project Management qualification (desirable);
  • 10-15+ years industry experience managing multi-disciplinary Energy Projects successfully, to budget and client specifications;
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in managing & leading a team effectively for performance and cohesion;
  • Thorough understanding of the local external Market and skills to translate this knowledge to projects and people;
  • High-level communication skills, including negotiating and resolving commercial, technical, and people matters.
