Job Summary

About The Role

The Strategic Social Planner will play a key role in shaping Council's decisions, working closely with internal and external stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Conduct comprehensive social research and analysis to identify trends and community needs.
  2. Provide expert advice on social infrastructure and community development in urban renewal areas.
  3. Develop and report on social outcomes and community wellbeing measures.
  4. Contribute to organisational-wide strategy and planning decisions.

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in social sciences, public policy, or town planning.
  • Demonstrated expertise in social planning principles and practices.
  • Excellent written communication skills and ability to influence others.
  • Experience in social research, planning, policy development, data analysis, project management, and implementing social infrastructure initiatives.
  • Exceptional report writing and presentation skills with evidence-based arguments.
  • Community-focused commitment to creating great places for all.
  • Ability to foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
