We are on the look-out for a talented and values-driven engagement professional based in Sydney to join our growing engagement and social impact team.
About youWe are looking for an industrious and ambitious professional – at either the Senior Consultant or Associate level - who believes in the power of engagement to shape better community outcomes. We want a great listener, and someone who relishes the challenge of bringing creative flair to their engagement practice.
Our ideal candidate is curious about the world, passionate about communities, and driven to make a positive impact. You have an established or emerging reputation in the engagement or social impact field. You think creatively about solving problems in new and different ways and enjoy rolling your sleeves up to get things done when it counts.
In short, you are:
- committed to giving people a voice in the matters that affect them,
- a thinker, a challenger, and a do-er,
- skilled at solving complex problems (or learning how to),
- a persuasive and creative communicator, both in writing and in person,
- able to juggle multiple projects and deliver to a high standard,
- self-motivated, diligent, and well-organised.
Qualifications and experience
Associates will be seasoned practitioners looking for a strategic challenge and have at least 10 years' experience. Senior Consultants will have at least five years' experience and be confident working independently.
Candidates at either level will have:
- qualifications or a background in urban planning, public policy, communications, or social sciences,
- a strong understanding of the social, environmental, cultural and economic issues that face our communities,
- eligibility to work in Australia,

And it would be great if you had:
- experience or interest in social impact assessment,
- experience in a consultancy environment,
- strong client relationships, ideally within NSW and the ACT across public and private sectors,
- You must have full Australian working rights.
You will lead or support stakeholder and community engagement programs, with a particular focus on identifying and quantifying social outcomes. You will work primarily on consulting commissions, though may also undertake secondments with trusted client partners in a range of industry sectors. You will prepare or support proposals and tender responses, manage projects, and help develop our service offering.
Your responsibilities include:
- being an advocate for best practice engagement and social impact,
- designing and implementing engagement strategies and programs,
- working with community members and stakeholder organisations through a range of engagement methods,
- writing succinct and compelling copy to explain complex ideas in understandable ways,
- collaborating with digital and graphic designers to produce creative and engaging collateral,
- analysing qualitative and quantitative data, drawing out insights and preparing high-quality reports
- taking accountability for delivering quality projects on time and to budget,
- developing strong client and partner relationships based on trust and sound advice
- living our business values of excellence, relationships, challenge, trust and care.
