Job Title: Medical Negligence Claims Team Leader

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Claims Team Leader to manage our Medical Negligence claims team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in medical negligence, medical malpractice, complex liability, or professional indemnity claims and will be responsible for leading a team of 12 consultants.

The Role:
  • Manage a team of 12 claims consultants with varying levels of seniority in the Medical Negligence claims space.
  • Provide training, decision approvals, and support to team members on complex and contentious claims.
  • Provide support and advice to policy holders, key claimants, and stakeholders.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including doctors, nurses, lawyers, and litigators, as necessary.
  • Understand policy wordings and provide guidance to team members.
  • Work from home with flexibility and have access to our Sydney office.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience handling Medical Negligence, Medical Malpractice, Professional Indemnity, or Complex Liability claims end to end.
  • Previous experience managing a team or in people leadership.
  • Ability to prioritize and work to deadlines.
  • Understanding of operational processes and procedures required in team environments.
  • Experience in managing claims and stakeholders effectively.
  • A team-centric approach to leadership.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Great communication skills.
