About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to lead our Civil Practice Group in Sydney. As a key member of our Avant Law team, you will be responsible for managing a team of lawyers and paralegals, providing high-quality legal services to our members, and ensuring the effective management of claims.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the civil litigation team to ensure billing targets are met and high-quality legal services are provided.
  • Supervise and develop the skills of lawyers and paralegals within the civil team.
  • Coordinate resourcing and workflows within the civil team to ensure efficient and timely delivery of legal services.
  • Support the delivery of medico-legal advisory services to Avant members.
  • Conduct own civil file load and allocate files to the team.
Requirements
  • Experience in leadership or strong interest in developing people leadership skills.
  • Defence medical negligence and insurance law experience ideal.
  • Demonstrated health law knowledge.
  • Proactive in developing relationships and understanding member, business, and team requirements.
  • Strong time management and multi-tasking skills.
