Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Civil Practice Group in Sydney. As a key member of our Avant Law team, you will be responsible for managing a team of lawyers and paralegals, providing high-quality legal services, and achieving billing targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the civil litigation team, ensuring billing targets are met and high-quality legal services are provided.
  • Supervise and develop lawyers and paralegals to achieve their full potential.
  • Coordinate resourcing and workflows within the civil team, ensuring compliance with protocols, standards, and procedures.
  • Support the delivery of medico-legal advisory services to Avant members.
  • Conduct your own civil file load, allocating files to the team, and supervising the management of civil claims.
  • Advise and support the Head of Practice, Legal, and other senior leaders on state legal trends, issues, and developments.
Requirements
  • Experience in leadership or strong interest in developing people leadership skills.
  • Defence medical negligence and insurance law experience ideal.
  • Demonstrated health law knowledge.
  • Proactive in developing relationships and understanding member, business, and team requirements.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
