Our organization requires a skilled mechanical design professional to support the development of complex systems in defence and advanced communications sectors. As part of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing practical and cost-effective mechanical solutions.

  1. Develop and implement mechanical designs for complex systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure effective delivery.
  2. Prepare and maintain technical documentation, ensuring accuracy and version control.
  3. Execute engineering change requests (ECRs) and implement improvements based on user and manufacturing feedback.
  4. Review and manage bills of materials (BOMs) for accuracy and cost-effectiveness.
  5. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize designs for manufacture and deployment.

About the Role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on mechanical design experience, ideally within a regulated environment.
  • Strong proficiency with 3D CAD software, FEA, and drafting to industry standards.
  • Experience designing enclosures and mechanical assemblies.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes and familiarity with basic electrical/electronic integration.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced project-driven environment.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to work.
  • Australian citizenship required due to project security requirements.
  • Eligible for or currently holding Baseline Security Clearance.
  • Eligible for RPEQ or NER registration preferred.
  • Experience working in defence-related environments an advantage.
