Caring Chaplaincy Leader for Inner Brisbane Communities

About the Role
The Churches of Christ are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Housing Chaplain to provide holistic care and support to residents and staff within multiple housing contexts in the Inner Brisbane area. This key role will facilitate a pastoral care program, nurture Jesus-centered spirituality, and develop healthy communities through sound community development practices.
As a Chaplain, you will be a member of the Church and Community Engagement team, supporting activities aligned with the strategic direction of Churches of Christ. You will work closely with volunteers to flourish further care within the service.
This is a full-time position providing chaplaincy services to multiple sites, including Fortitude Valley, Eagle Farm, and Spring Hill. The ideal candidate will have proven leadership and management skills, with the capacity to deliver outcomes, inspire and motivate teams, and work across organisational boundaries to achieve shared goals.
About You
To succeed in this role, you must be active in your Christian faith and have a demonstrated competence in holistic pastoral care. You will need to communicate effectively with others in various contexts, working comfortably alongside people from different faiths, cultures, and lifestyle choices.
You will require:
- Ability to be endorsed as a Ministering Person with Churches of Christ;
- Certificate IV in Pastoral Care, Chaplaincy, Christian Ministry or relevant equivalent qualification;
- Current Driver's license and a willingness to travel periodically;
- Demonstrated experience in providing pastoral care, chaplaincy services or community development at an advanced level;
- Demonstrated ability to function as a servant leader who values all people, including the marginalised;
- Demonstrated ability to model a missional lifestyle and to communicate Christian beliefs and convictions within the Australian context.
