About the Role

The Nurse Unit Manager is a key leadership position within Calvary Care, responsible for the provision of strategic direction and operational management of the Medical Oncology Service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and direction to ensure the development and maintenance of a high-performing, evidence-based safe and effective Medical and Radiation Oncology Service.
  • Operationalize strategic plans and department direction within Medical Oncology Ward, including providing operational input into the development of these plans.
  • Accountable for the efficient and effective management of the Medical Oncology Ward, patient flow through the unit, and the integration of nursing practices within Calvary Care.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse authorized to practice by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Relevant postgraduate management qualifications or experience, or working towards.
  • Nursing Unit Management or In-Charge experience in an acute/subacute facility and/or ambulatory setting and ability to work proficiently in periods of high demand and activity.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and manage a team in a multidisciplinary environment with a focus on optimizing patient flow.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage financial and human resources.
  • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to improving healthcare through quality improvement and implementation of evidence-based care.
