Job Title: Technical Leadership Expert

The role of a Deputy Chief Engineer involves providing technical leadership across multiple product teams to deliver secure and reliable systems.

About the Role

This individual bridges engineering execution and strategic oversight, with responsibility for cyber security operations, test and evaluation, and architectural guidance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide architectural and design guidance across a suite of ICT products
  • Lead cyber security and test & evaluation functions
  • Support DevSecOps practices and release processes
  • Mentor junior engineers in areas such as virtualisation, containerisation, and secure development
  • Investigate technical incidents and emerging technologies, providing advice to senior leadership
  • Review and approve product designs in line with assurance frameworks
  • Contribute to documentation, reporting, and stakeholder engagement

Key skills and qualifications include a degree in Engineering (Software Engineering preferred), Computer Science, or IT, as well as SAFe Practitioner certification. Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and secure software development is essential.
