Strategic Leadership Role

AgriFutures Australia is seeking two experienced and motivated professionals to join our Levied and Emerging Industries team in senior leadership roles:

At AgriFutures Australia, our vision is to grow the long-term prosperity of Australian rural industries and communities.

We do this through research, development, and extension programs for established and emerging industries. We also deliver initiatives like evokeAG. and growAG.

We place people at the center of everything we do. We listen, connect, and collaborate domestically and globally with emerging leaders in agriculture, industry bodies, other Research Development Corporations (RDCs), and government.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead strategic portfolio oversight and stakeholder engagement
  • Develop a comprehensive portfolio strategy that clearly defines priorities
  • Engage and align stakeholders around strategic objectives and success measures
  • Implement a Stakeholder Engagement Framework to strengthen relationships and ensure alignment with industry needs
  • Support ongoing planning and reviews of portfolio performance
Requirements

Proven ability to develop and implement portfolio strategies

Exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills

Strong leadership capability with experience in coaching, collaboration, and accountability

Understanding of rural R&D systems and pathways for communication and extension

Excellent financial, planning, and program management skills

Desirable Experience/Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications in science, business management, or economics
  • 10+ years of experience in Program Management
  • Demonstrated knowledge of rural issues and the role of rural research and development
