Job Overview:

Melbourne Water is a caretaker for Melbourne's water cycle, responsible for delivering clean water to its residents and wildlife.

This pivotal role involves leading environmental studies with a collaborative approach to investigate, review, and advise on achieving key objectives for water quality, waterway health, and amenity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversight, checking, and quality control of complex environmental decisions.
  • Providing technical advice on environmental issues, including contamination, cultural heritage values, and environmental referrals.
  • Leadership in ensuring concept designs meet strict environmental and other waterway values.
  • Strategic internal support, including recommendations and technical input into projects.
  • Input and leadership in customer experience and community consultation, collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Review and quality control to ensure environmental requirements can be met through planning.

This role requires extensive experience in environmental planning and project management, knowledge of policy and legislation, and significant experience advocating environmental outcomes.

A relevant tertiary qualification and Victorian Driver's licence are required for this position.
