Mineral Processing Specialist

This is a high-level position that requires strong conceptual thinking and analytical skills.

The role will involve coordinating, promoting and integrating geometallurgy across interdisciplinary teams to maximize value while minimizing technical and operational risk.

You will have access to multiple techniques to understand the orebody ranging from corescale to microscale which you will use to link to material properties such as comminution, abrasivity, elutration, upgrades and yields.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret metallurgical testwork data from drilling to assess the impact of geology on upgrades and yields during processing.
  • Communicate the findings and analysis to stakeholders within the organization.
  • Design, evaluate and optimize testwork flowsheet for various metallurgical testwork programs to understand comminution, abrasion, liberation and other handling properties of the material.
  • Assess the quality and consistency of metallurgical test work.
  • Interface with metallurgical and analytical labs to ensure that the test work is fit for purpose and delivered on time.
  • Travel to sites to inspect ore body and provide insights into expected processing behavior.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Geology, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Data Science or related field.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety with strong attitude towards HSEC.
  • 5-12 years experience in mineral processing or similar industry with practical alignment to real-world applications.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Good project management capabilities including cross-functional collaboration.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including technical writing and process documentation.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python.
  • Understanding of geometallurgical systems of work and related methodologies.
