Job Description

We are seeking a Freight Policy Specialist to join our team in the Transport Policy Branch. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on high-impact policy initiatives and contribute to shaping the future of freight in NSW.

The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker with excellent research and analysis skills, as well as exceptional written communication skills. You will have experience working in a policy role in government and relevant tertiary qualifications.

As a Freight Policy Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing policy initiatives related to freight;
  • Researching and analyzing complex policy issues;
  • Working across the cluster and with industry stakeholders to identify needs and develop policy options;

This is a 12-month temporary opportunity with the potential to extend. We offer a hybrid-friendly work arrangement, allowing you to balance in-person days at our office location with remote days.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as politics, law, or economics;
  • Experience working in a policy role in government;
  • Excellent research and analysis skills;
  • Exceptional written communication skills;
