Operations Coordinator Job

We are seeking an experienced Operations Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Operations Control Centre, you will play a vital role in coordinating operational movements and ensuring the smooth delivery of our bus services.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operational management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure. You will be responsible for implementing developed plans for scheduled service requirements, ad-hoc requests from Operations, and ad-hoc requests from Assets.

You will also be required to review and provide cover in the event of unexpected needs due to instances such as vehicle breakdowns, staffing changes, late running of buses, passenger demand, poor weather etc.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate operational movements in relation to scheduled bus services, routes, and to meet requirements for maintenance and fuelling.
  • Implement developed plans for scheduled service requirements, ad-hoc requests from Operations for Bus Driver changeovers, and ad-hoc requests from Assets for vehicle changeovers.
  • Review and provide cover in the event of unexpected needs due to instances such as vehicle breakdowns, staffing changes, late running of buses, passenger demand, poor weather etc.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in an operational environment including the coordination of teams and monitoring their adherence to procedures.
  • Ability to build rapport within a team and effectively engage with diverse people in person, via radio or via phone.
  • Minimum C class drivers licence (MR licence preferred or willingness to obtain as driving buses is required for all staff).
  • A valid State Driving Authority and Working with Children's Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • Current Nationally recognised First Aid and CPR certificates (or willingness to obtain).
  • Knowledge of bus route services and the local transport network desired.
