Job Overview

This role involves collaborating with the Operating Suite team to deliver comprehensive care and ensure high standards of safety and competence.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting patient transfers, preparing operating rooms, and maintaining cleanliness in theatre corridors and suites.

Key qualifications include strong organisational skills, ability to function well in a team, and capacity to prioritise workload. Working towards Certificate III in Health Service Assistant is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare operating rooms for procedures, ensuring necessary equipment and supplies are available.
  • Conduct checks on technical equipment prior to operating lists and seek assistance if required.
  • Assist with patient transfers, lifts, and positioning within the theatre suite.
  • Maintain clean theatre corridors, anaesthetic room, and other areas as per hospital infection control recommendations.

Requirements

  • Experience with handling standard and specialised operating room equipment.
  • Ability to function well in a team and give/receive direction.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload.
