About the Role
The Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) is seeking a highly skilled Group Manager to lead our Digital Division. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the creation and establishment of efficient 'ways of working' to ensure all teams are cost-effective, efficient, and scalable with external vendors/partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive cultural change and promote cross-departmental activities to support the EGM Digital.
- Provide strategic advice and direction to Management on AEMO's Technology functions, covering operational matters, strategies, and efficiencies.
- Exercise sound managerial judgement and influence in adopting an AEMO position or commitment to actions.
- Own and manage the applications environment, framework, tools, and processes for the systems managed by the teams in this department.
About the Team
The Digital Division enables the delivery of AEMO's obligations through technology and improves outcomes for both internal and external stakeholders. We provide services to internal AEMO business units, employees, contractors, subsidiaries, external government bodies, and market participants.
Requirements
- Significant experience in a technology team leadership capacity managing multiple, large, cross-functional operational teams or projects.
- Experience in the energy industry or similarly highly regulated industry experience relevant to fit-for-purpose information technology and data management.
- Good knowledge of the practices and principles associated with the operation of gas and electricity markets, wholesale and retail, and corporate systems within Australia.
