About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Security Operations Analyst to join our team at Cerner. As a key member of our security operations team, you will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing security-related events, identifying potential threats, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement effective security measures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Event Monitoring and Analysis: Monitor incoming event queues using security management tools, identify, categorize, prioritize, and investigate correlated events.
  • Incident Response: Perform investigation and triage of events and incidents, escalate according to standard operating procedures, and communicate with multiple teams on security and operational incidents.
  • Reporting and Dashboard Development: Develop reports, dashboards, real-time rules, and filters on a large-scale system, and iterate on event/incident procedures, long-term analysis, investigation processes, and reporting.
  • Process Improvement: Identify improvements in event generation and monitoring platforms, work with engineering teams to implement these changes, and document investigation results and provide relevant details for final analysis.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related technical education, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in Cybersecurity Operations, with experience working in a cloud-based environment, preferably Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
  • Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, a keen interest in learning and practicing cybersecurity, a critical and considerate eye for detail, and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Eligibility: Eligibility to work in Australia without sponsorship is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Cloud Security Knowledge: Experience with cloud security, Linux operating systems, and reporting tools such as Grafana and/or OCI analytics.
  • Scripting and Automation: Experience scripting in regular expression for SIEM signatures, and experience with SOAR/XSOAR automation.
  • Network Security Knowledge: Knowledge or experience of network security, mobile apps design, architecture, and networking.
