Transforming Educational Outcomes for Young People

About this role:

We are seeking an experienced Education Specialist to support vulnerable youth in learning, pathways or community programs.

This position will be at the forefront of transforming educational outcomes for young people living in residential care settings. Our program focuses on holistic, trauma-informed practice promoting safety, positive relationships and a supportive learning environment.

The successful candidate will deliver one-on-one education and specialist support, advocacy, school-based interventions, outreach, tutoring, enrolment support and student brokerage. A flexible approach is taken to support young people achieving their learning goals, transitioning back to mainstream or accessing vocational training.

You will work closely with the Access Ed and Thrive Team Leader as part of a dynamic Education and Engagement Team. Together, you'll champion education as a powerful tool for equity and opportunity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Improve learning outcomes through hands-on teaching, advocacy and supporting care teams.
  • Conduct academic and wellbeing assessments to understand learner needs.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans with clear goals and meaningful strategies.

To be successful in this role, you will have relevant experience and qualifications in education, youth work or social work, and a commitment to the organisation's objectives and values.
