Equipment Maintenance Technician

We're seeking an experienced Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our operations, you'll be responsible for overseeing the maintenance of our equipment and ensuring our machines are operating at standard.

The role involves:

  • Operating, setting up and adjusting all production machinery as required at site
  • Using power tools, plant and equipment
  • Performing engineering maintenance to plant as required
  • Collaborating with other members of management and manufacturing to ensure efficient maintenance, preventative work and breakdowns are completed in a timely manner to minimize impact to production schedules
  • Lubricating production equipment as required to ensure safe use and minimize breakdowns of plant and equipment
  • Validating processes on plant and equipment to standards as required
  • Identifying critical control points and preventive measures
  • Studying drawings and specifications to determine suitable material, method and sequence of operations, and machine settings
  • Fitting fabricated metal parts into products and assembling metal parts and subassemblies to produce machines and equipment
  • Setting up prescribed cutting and shaping tools and dies in machines and setting controls for machines
  • Forming metal stock and castings to fine tolerances using machining tools to press, cut, grind, plane, bore and drill metal
  • Diagnosing faults and performing operational maintenance of machines, and overhauling and repairing mechanical parts and fluid power equipment

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a maintenance role in a similar or likeminded organization is mandatory or equivalent relevant qualifications
  • A Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent qualification plus 3 year's experience in a like role
  • Completed apprenticeship or Trade certificate
