Community Engagement Specialist

The position of Community Engagement Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the delivery and execution of societal impact initiatives.
About the Role:- This is an opportunity to coordinate events, develop marketing strategies, implement student engagement initiatives, and establish internal and external relationships with individuals passionate about driving diversity and belonging within the education sector.
- The specialist will work closely with team members to coordinate activities targeting underrepresented cohorts in the engineering sector.
- Coordinate community engagement initiatives and activities targeting underrepresented cohorts in the engineering sector.
- Establish strategic partnerships within educational institutions and externally with stakeholders for example high schools who have aligned objectives to leverage collective impact.
- Oversee the development and implementation of project plans and schedules contributing to planning processes for key initiatives as required.
- Provide consultative advice and strategic guidance across faculties on issues relating to the attraction and retention of students from underrepresented backgrounds in Engineering.
- Design, develop and implement effective marketing and communications strategies for activities targeted to underrepresented cohorts and relevant communities.
- Australian Working Rights or Australian Citizenship.
- Relevant tertiary qualification with extensive experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience preferably within higher education sectors or working closely with underrepresented backgrounds.
- Demonstrated expertise in fostering student engagement and crafting programs/initiatives aimed at enhancing skills and cultivating a sense of community among participants.
- Substantial project coordination experience including ability to plan, implement and co-ordinate complex projects and report on outcomes.
- Engagement and stakeholder management skills including the ability to establish long-term relationships with student, academic and external stakeholders with a strong track record in delivery of successful outcomes.
