Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team in Benalla, Victoria. This permanent role involves transforming procurement for our plant by sourcing, selecting, and developing suppliers to achieve optimal outcomes regarding Price, Quality, Service, and Risk exposure for components and raw materials for both existing and new products.

This role involves:
  • Sourcing and selecting suppliers to ensure the best possible outcome for the business
  • Managing category spend analytics, APOP planning, and supplier negotiations to drive cost savings and improve efficiency
  • Collaborating with regional and global category teams to align sourcing strategies and ensure seamless integration
  • Managing RFPs, pricing agreements, forecasting, reporting, and lifecycle costing to optimize procurement processes
  • Achieving cost reductions through negotiation, benchmarking, and localisation to drive business growth
  • Ensuring material flow, mitigating risks, and developing alternative sourcing strategies to maintain supply chain resilience
  • Building long-term supplier partnerships to drive innovation and sustainability in our operations
  • Leveraging digital tools to streamline procurement activities and improve data analysis and reporting
  • Aligning with our sustainability goals via responsible sourcing practices that promote environmental stewardship and social responsibility
Our ideal candidate will possess:
  • A degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and relevant experience in a similar manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of Transformer components and supply chain requirements
  • Proven skills in procurement, buying, and sourcing, with a strong focus on cost savings and process improvement
  • Intermediate IT skills, experienced with digital tools and best practices
  • Strong data analysis, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills to effectively collaborate with domestic and international stakeholders
  • Project management experience to lead cross-functional teams and drive complex projects forward
