Job Opportunity: Library and Resource Coordinator

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of supporting the smooth operation of the library for staff and students.

  • This is a part-time position, with hours to be negotiated.
  • The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining compliance training of volunteers.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Model the College's Vision, Mission and Values in all dealings with students, staff and external parties.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of resources and ensure they are kept in the correct order.
  • Repair damaged or worn material.
  • Prepare and cover new resources.
  • Conduct regular stock takes.
  • Prepare and make displays and signage.
  • Monitor stationery stocks, etc.

Circulation Desk:

  • Loan and return resources efficiently.
  • Issue overdue loan notices and lists.

Cataloguing:

  • Enter new items into the database and maintain accurate records.

Data Entry:

  • Enter and maintain student details on the Library Management System.
  • Maintain accurate statistics and create reports.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated commitment and capacity to actively promote the Mission and Values of the school community.
  • Able to work as a team member.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Excellent written English skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with students, staff, and the community.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality, and to demonstrate initiative and creativity in work skills.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Certificate IV, Library and Information Services.
  • Experience with Library automation systems.
