About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our multi-disciplinary Allied Health Team as a Vision Specialist Clinician. The successful candidate will have the chance to improve our clients' quality of life and independence by utilizing a broad range of occupational therapy skills through effective home modifications, equipment prescription, and therapeutic interventions.

Working within a collaborative and flexible environment, you will provide direct vision-related services to our clients and the community. This includes assessing, planning, implementing, and reviewing programs for clients in various settings such as hospital, school, home, and community.

You will be responsible for providing comprehensive vision rehabilitation programs, designing, and implementing consumer-focused programs by applying thorough and professional knowledge of allied health theories and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To assess, plan, implement, and review programs for clients with vision loss or blindness in various settings
  • To design and implement consumer-focused vision rehabilitation programs
  • To provide direct vision-related services to clients and the community

Suitable Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Occupational Therapist with a strong passion for working with individuals with vision loss or blindness. They will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be proficient in using technology to support client care.

The successful candidate will also have a tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and be eligible for registration. Experience in neurological vision loss, assistive technology, and early intervention would be highly advantageous.
