Infection Prevention Specialist

MOR. Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Infection Prevention and Control Manager to join our team in Tasmania.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing infection prevention and control practices, ensuring that all services provided meet best practice standards to prevent the spread of infection.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing expert knowledge and advice on infection prevention and management;
- Developing and implementing infection control policies and procedures;
- Conducting audits and monitoring infection control data to identify areas for improvement;
- Collaborating with clinical staff and other stakeholders to promote a culture of infection prevention and control;
- Providing education and training on infection control to clinical staff and other hospital staff;
- Supporting the Executive team with COVID-19 management and decision-making.
About You
We are looking for a registered nurse or midwife with a postgraduate qualification in infection prevention and control. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels.
You will also have:
- Considerable recent experience in infection control practice within an acute care setting;
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to challenge status quo;
- Proven ability to prioritize and manage time effectively;
- An understanding of epidemiology of hospital-acquired infections.
