Strategic Program Director for Vocational Education

Swinburne University is currently seeking a Director to oversee both the educational and business activities of the department, reporting directly to the Pro Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive VET.

About the Role

In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of cutting-edge education programs that meet the highest standards of quality. Your contributions will be crucial in aligning these programs with Swinburne's strategic direction and the VET Division Strategic Roadmap.

You will also be responsible for effectively managing staffing resources to ensure a high-performing team, as well as overseeing the operational budget and business activities that support the University's overarching vision and goals.

The Director position will lead the vocational disciplines associated with this portfolio, including relevant tertiary degrees or vocational qualifications. You will develop, maintain, and continuously improve on strong relationships with industry, community, and government.

To be suitable for this role, you must have:

  • AQF5 level (or above) qualification in Education
  • AQF5 qualification in an aligned industry area
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership to a large team and work collaboratively with leaders across a tertiary institution
  • Demonstrated excellent communications skills, including the ability to build trust, foster innovation and collaboration, and a strong action orientation
