Unlock Your Potential as a Senior Planning Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Planning Engineer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated professional to play a pivotal role in the planning and execution of our mining operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of Mine Planning Engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, training, and development opportunities to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising a team of Mine Planning Engineers and ensuring they have the necessary resources and support to complete their tasks effectively.
  • Developing and implementing medium- and long-term plans to achieve business objectives.
  • Collaborating with production, paste fill, geotechnical, and geology teams to ensure priorities are transferred into short-term plans.
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities to optimize mining processes and provide business improvement strategies.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Competency in using Deswik packages (Scheduler, CAD, SO).
  • Practical experience on large-scale underground mining operations, including new project ramp-ups and multi-site operations.
  • Previous experience with financial modeling/costing.
  • Ability to influence, communicate risks, realistic plans, and deliver compelling presentations.

You will also need to possess relevant qualifications, such as a Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering and a First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency (desirable). Attributes such as proactive engagement in safety processes, adherence to required controls, and promotion of STARR Core Values will also be essential.
