Electrical Estimator Role

The role of an Electrical Estimator involves preparing accurate contract value estimates and cost plans for various tenders and engineering studies.

You will work within a national team across Western Australia, Queensland, and New South Wales, with essential travel required during bid study periods. You will assist with internal approval documentation and participate in corporate reviews and approval meetings as needed.

Key responsibilities include reviewing requests for proposals and tenders to develop efficient and cost-effective pricing, developing and implementing first principle estimates, interpreting and evaluating drawings, and collating material take-offs and job costs into presentable spreadsheets or databases.

You will also analyze benchmarks and historical costs, assist with procurement packages preparation, align the estimate and schedule with the Planning team, review estimates for accuracy and completeness, and develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and industry bodies.

Additionally, you will report to management on estimate progress, participate in tender reviews, ensure relevant documents are submitted within the bid deadline, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of estimate, methodology, and schedule.

Requirements
  • Degree-qualified professional with significant on-the-job experience.
  • Experience with database estimating packages.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate first-principles estimates and proposals within strict deadlines.
