The role of a Medical Equipment Specialist involves coordinating the planning and deployment of volunteer surgical teams conducting surgery with clinical partners across the Indo-Pacific region.
You will develop and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues, key suppliers, and clinical partners to ensure the correct supply of medical equipment, drugs, and consumables.
This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities to troubleshoot equipment or supply issues from Australia while in-country.
The Medical Equipment Specialist will manage customs requirements and provide legal documentation of supplies transported overseas.

Key Responsibilities:
- Coordination of medical equipment, drugs, and consumables for volunteer surgical team deployments.
- Liaison with technical support discussions to assure correct supply of medical equipment, drugs, and consumables.
- Check and correct documentation and packing of medical equipment, drugs, and consumables.
- Participate in team briefings and troubleshoot equipment or supply issues from Australia while in-country.
- Manage customs requirements and provide legal documentation of supplies transported overseas.
- Registered nurse with a Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification.
- Experience in perioperative nursing, procurement of medical equipment, and comprehensive knowledge of suppliers.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Competence in Excel and Word, ability to work independently, and cultural awareness.
