Community Resilience Coordinator

We are seeking a Community Resilience Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering community-focused programs to achieve the goals of our VICSES Community Resilience and Renewal Strategy.

The Community Resilience Coordinator will work closely with key stakeholders and volunteer units to build the capability of our members, including working alongside volunteers to facilitate community engagement programs and supporting the recruitment and retention of SES Volunteers.

The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The successful candidate will have experience in community development, program management, and emergency services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver community-focused programs to achieve the goals of the VICSES Community Resilience and Renewal Strategy
  • Work closely with key stakeholders and volunteer units to build the capability of our members
  • Facilitate community engagement programs and support the recruitment and retention of SES Volunteers
  • Play a pivotal role in increasing hazard awareness and understanding of VICSES public information and warnings

Requirements:

  • Experience in community development, program management, and emergency services
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

We are a volunteer-based emergency service that plays a major role in Victoria's emergency preparedness, response, relief, and recovery activities during emergencies. Our highly skilled and equipped Volunteers are trained comprehensively in a wide range of emergency environments.

We focus on working with communities and partners in building resilience to achieve more aware, informed, and prepared communities. We support them to understand their risk and the relevance of taking action before, during, and after emergency events.
